WELCOME TO SPINNEYS RETAIL MANAGEMENT TRAINEE PROGRAM

The program has been designed for young people who are looking for an exceptional career in retail. It aims to attract ambitious, self motivated, highly responsible candidates who will be Spinneys Managers for the future.

Once you have completed the Retail Management Trainee Program, you will be equipped with the technical competencies and management skills to enable you to become a successful and mature member of Spinneys Store Management Team.

More than anything, though, your success as a Retail Management Trainee will be based on what you input to the program-in order to learn the job. Don’t be surprised to find yourself unloading deliveries, cleaning departments, lifting and carrying stock, cleaning fish, cutting meat, etc.

Ahead of you lie several months of hard work, challenge and hopefully enjoyment. Just remember – most of our Managers joined us as Trainee Managers.

OBJECTIVE OF THE PROGRAM

As a Retail Management Trainee you will learn supervisory and technical skills that are in alignment with the Spinneys philosophies and operational strategies. You will work as an apprentice in each department, and you will gain the skills and experience in Fresh Food, FMCG, Hard Goods, Front End, Warehousing and Receiving, Category Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, Marketing, Merchandising, Finance and HR that will position you for advancement in your retail career.

As part of Spinneys’ continuing growth and success, we are looking to add ambitious, potential hard working Managers to our dynamic young team. You will run your own growth as if it were your own business.

As Spinneys Retail Management Trainee, you must be committed, enthusiastic, organized, energetic, hands-on and willing to lead the store team by example.

The program will be a tool to:

• Source young Managers for the future;
• Place the young Managers in a one-year training program;
• Confirm, by the end of the program, the young Managers in key Line Management positions.
